The Project
Velvet Badger were enlisted for a second time by the No.1 global live streaming service Twitch.
This time to develop, direct and produce a 30-second animation for Rockstar Energy and their new Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War promotional cans.

The Brief
Rockstar partnered with Activision to promote the launch of the latest instalment in the legendary Call of Duty franchise, positioning Rockstar as the energy drink Twitch users require for late night sessions and levelling up.
Twitch users were given extra incentives to drink and to play in the form of prizes including double XP, the Ultimate Edition game and a coveted Sony PS5 console.
Set against the backdrop of the Cold War, the can encapsulates and contains the explosive energy required to compete and play at the next level.
Velvet Badger positioned the redesigned Cold War can pride of place in the centre of the war zone, brought to life with dynamic animated liquid and unique audio design, infused with in-game footage.

In order to complete the animation in under eight weeks, the Badgers were on their own war-footing, stocking-up on some Rockstar Energy Drinks themselves to bolster their successful efforts to produce an explosive and dynamic commercial.
